Spiritual Doctor
Oh, spiritual doctor, you gave the remedy
There was no one in this universe to treat my malady
Like rain upon a fire, pour your mercy upon me
I'm suffering from a skin disease, I think I am this body

Oh, topmost psychologist, have mercy on this man
I'm suffering from amnesia, and can't remember who I am
I wandered round the world trying to take command
By your patient treatment I begin to understand

Oh, spiritual master, take the world under your wing
Prior to you coming we didn't know a thing
You taught us how to dance and taught us how to sing
Without you the world is empty, with you it is everything
We Remember Our Leader
You made the strategy, You lent a hand
When the battle began You took command
Maya attacked, You made a stand
She backed away from Your reprimand

You made a society from coast to coast
Of all who tried, You did the most
The perfect guest, the perfect host
To call You divine is not a boast

Maya's forces will always try
But when You come near, away they fly
You taught us how to live and how to die
No need for fear in the spiritual sky

Life is a battle, the fight has begun
Behind enemy lines, no place for fun
But when we need strength to stand and not run
We remember our leader, Prabhupada, you're the one
We See You as Krishna
On the horizon, a glimmer of hope
A light in a cave, no more need to grope
Submerged in a well, You throw us a rope
Tossed by the ocean, You help us to cope

You give us today, freedom from night
The view becomes pleasing, with spiritual sight
From down in the dumps, to ecstatic new height
In Your shelter we rest, saved from our plight

Some cower from power, see You as fear
Some see You as time, when death becomes near
Some see You as void, unseen, unclear
We see You as Krishna, with us You are here
Our Aim is to Please
We see to believe, so grant us reprieve
We see You, percieve You, so please never leave
We are Your parts, as a tree has its leaves
You are our goal, our aim is to please

To never forget, and always remember
All of our life, not just this day in September
Service to You, is what we must render
In spontaneous love, not as a pretender

It is clear, You are the source of all that be
Beyond past or future, bliss eternally
Where we choose to stay, we state quite openly
Your Lotus Feet, so very sweet, where we pray to be
Not Really Alone
Toward a foreign land You went
Alone, a humble mendicant
To pay Your way, barely a cent
But unlimited wealth in Your pure chant

Thank You glorious Master, Your causeless mercy
Guiding me toward the Lord of all that be
If my fate alone had been left up to me
I'd be heading for a life of beast, bird, or tree

I don't mind, You can place me anywhere
From delightful heights, to depths of despair
You may place me here, or place me there
All I ask is to remain eternally in Your care
The Pretender
What for, surrender, pretender like me
I'm here to stay for eternity
With senses in full bloom, to soon to restrain
Enjoy to the limit, thats why we have brain

What's that you say, you think I am mad
Well I can say that you're just as bad
You see that I am enjoying myself
With women and wine and plenty of wealth

I know that one day I will grow old
But for the moment, I won't do what I'm told
I know what you say is true to the word
But I'm an enjoyer, and don't want to serve

Yes God exists, but He's not for me
Because I'm here to stay for eternity
I'm one of the many who try to be Lord
We will stay here and wait, until Kalki's sword
The Rising Sun
Darkness fades, and heralding the rising of the sun
Eclipsed and outshone by the jewell of the twice born
The Golden Avatar, the Lord Gaurasundara
Holding Krishna in the heart, awakened to the dawn

In an ecstacy unchecked, throughout the countryside
Not alone and independent, but along with His devotees
Drums resound, and cymbals chime, nobody could chide
The oceanic flood of devotion, to every town and village

An army without aggression, possessed with Holy Names
A spiritual life entices, filled with the vibrations
The undisputed attraction, Whose effulgence never wanes
A transcendental distraction, a shimmering sensation

Everywhere they would traverse, to announce the real way
Forgo material methods, just chant the name of Hari
Illusory desires will entangle day by day
Don't sacrifice your soul, just to decorate the body

We have arisen from animals, and attained a human form
So with intelligence unwavering, don't ignore impending death
The way to blissful life, to serve Yasoda's darling
A life for loving God, don't wait for your last breath

Morning mist stands aside, for the rising of the sun
Life exudes some harmony, another day will start
Memory left in the past, for yesterday is gone
Eternal time proceeds, to serve the Lord within the heart

See the changes always, this life is on the wane
Fortunes fluctuate from happy to distress
Don't hold on to illusion, just chant the Holy Name
Avoid the life of cats and dogs, that's our real business

To diminish the pretenders, and penetrate illusion
To change the stone-hard hearts, and bless everyone
From the pitfalls of despair, the Holy Name has arisen
A dark night has no choice but to surrender to the sun

So feast upon the mercy, drink the nectar of the Names
In this misguided life, we can satisfy our soul
All through the vast creation, within the fourteen worlds
There is no other way, there is no other goal
Put Out the Fire
Don't get caught up in yesterday
When times are showing, you are growing
And don't lament, cause day by day
You're not losing, you are moving
To the Lord of creation
And cessation from self desire
Put out the fire

I know a time, years gone by
We thought we could reach right up
And touch the sky
Why did we deviate, it's not too late

But you must change your way at last
Look to the future, forget the past
And if you change, your little scene
You will become, a human being
And it is seen, a life serene
Is offered up higher, away from this maya
Put out the fire
Catching Up
One time I was a hero
The next I was obscene
One time she was a weirdo
The next she became queen
There is something going on here
Something quite unseen
The law of karma is catching up
And it caught me in between
